What is your Mission Statement?

The Herbal Difference, Inc. was founded to develop and produce the purest all-natural products possible and make them available to professional health care providers and the public in general. The Herbal Difference, Inc. focus is on personal care products, specifically those to treat dental problems.

Why were these products developed and who developed them?

A few years ago, Dr. Reid Winick saw the need for totally natural dental products that could rival the effectiveness of conventional drugs. Many of his patients were highly sensitive to chemical materials but urgently needed powerful help with their periodontal problems. At the same time, many of his other patients were asking for advice about all-natural, additive and filler free alternatives for their daily dental home-care program. He knew he had nothing on his shelf that met these specialized needs although he had tested many products.

Dr. Winick asked Nancy Whitson-Rubin, a professional associate, to join him in producing a group of herbal products and a system for their application to periodontal disease. She used her expertise and experience not only with the formulating of herbs but also with their use for treating infectious conditions to develop the Perio-Care Dental System™ .

Working together, Dr. Winick and Ms. Whitson-Rubin have outlined protocols for the successful use of Perio-Care Products. In his practice, Dr. Winick has tested the products extensively and collected data on the effectiveness of the Herbal Powder, Rinse and Capsules using clinical results and live, microscopic, phase-contrast analysis criteria.

Both Dr. Winick and Ms. Whitson-Rubin are confident that dentists and their patients who use The Herbal Difference, Inc. products will see the “Difference”.

Reid L. Winick, DDS, is a graduate of New York University Dental School . He is an integrative dentist with extensive experience in non-surgical periodontal treatment, as well as in TMJ and craniofacial disorders. Dr. Winick was co-founder and director of the Facial Pain/TMJ Clinic at NY Eye & Ear Infirmary.

Dr. Winick has spent the last 10 years studying and researching for the best possible natural, non-surgical periodontal techniques. He has completed numerous continuing education courses with an emphasis on periodontal disease, TMJ & cervical dysfunction, neural therapy and biological dentistry. Dr. Winick also lectures, writes and teaches on TMJ, head, neck & facial pain

Nancy Whitson-Rubin, CCN, has specialized for the past 20 years in herbal and homeopathic research and development focusing specifically on treating the underlying infections that cause so many of today's health problems such as Chronic Fatigue, Lyme, Hepatitis, HIV/AIDS as well as periodontal disease. The herbal formulas and theoretical approach to treatment used in The Herbal Difference, Inc.'s products are based on Ms. Whitson-Rubin's extensive clinical experience.

With her late husband, Dr. Walter Whitson-Fischman, she was involved during the developmental phases and clinical trials of the MIHR (Magnetically Influenced Homeopathic Remedies) Modality, which was granted worldwide patents. MIHR utilizes homeopathy, acupuncture, herbal formulas and biomagnetics. She was Administrative Director of The HAARQ Study, an HIV/AIDS project that ran from 1988 – 1991 and demonstrated MIHR's effectiveness.

Ms. Whitson-Rubin continues to conduct MIHR training seminars and acts as liaison for physicians in the use of this innovative therapy. She is a licensed nutritionist and has a practice in New York City .
